Part Time English Language Acquisition (ELA) And English For Speakers Of Other Language

I am a skilled ELA and ESOL Tutor. For many years I have been teaching students of varying ages and levels to use and appreciate the English language by learning to read, write, think, speak and communicate with greater confidence and clarity. I am well experienced in developing and implementing successful programs with customized lesson plans designed to meet each student's individual goals, needs, and interests. Using my extensive Performing Arts training, I combine traditional teaching techniques and structured worksheets with looser, more improvisational and intuitive exercises which I use to: sharpen a student's focus and attention, deepen the integration and assimilation of newly learned materials with mastered concepts, and bring sheer fun and learning enjoyment to our sessions together. I love my work. I am dedicated to supporting each student's ability to work toward his or her fullest potential, and I will bring the materials we need to accomplish this.

Ellie is an excellent tutor. She quickly figured out what style of tutoring would engage my 13-year old son. She is helping him with his writing, grammar, punctuation and penmanship. Ellie goes above and beyond to find worksheets and books that will help my son to catch up in English. She has also helped my son with Science & Social Studies assignments. I am so happy we found her!

How can I find a good tutor near me?

How can I prepare for my first session with a tutor?
Before your first session with a new tutor, sit down and do a little preparation so you or your child can get the most out of your tutoring experience.
